Tim began his dance career studying and competing in Swing and Lindy Hop in the early 1990s.  He traveled extensively across the U.S. studying with Lindy Hop originator Frankie Manning and Lindy Hop legend Steven Mitchell as well as with World Boogie Woogie Champion Marcus Koch and many others.  His passion for Swing dancing eventually led him to Chicago where he mentored with Christopher Yee of Swing Out Chicago.

After years as a club Swing dancer, student and competitor, Tim took up residence as the Swing dance instructor for The 24 Karat Club during the peak of the Swing dance revival in the mid 1990s.  After a 3 year residence, Tim taught for numerous studios in the Detroit, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor and Flint areas of Michigan and traveled across the country teaching dance workshops in Swing, Latin, Ballroom and Hustle.

Tim currently teaches dance for Casa Richard Academy in Detroit where he created the Ballroom Dance program for inner city kids.  He also teaches for Plymouth Canton Community Ed, Ann Arbor Rec & Ed, U of M Ballroom Dance Club and Central City Dance Studio in Canton.

Tim is an award winning dancer, teacher, performer and choreographer.  He has choreographed dance productions for the historic Redford Theatre and Livonia Public Schools performing arts program (CAPA) and for the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit.  As a competitor, a few of the many awards he has won include:

• The 1999 and 2000 Top Teacher - Michigan Teacher Expo
• 10 first place awards in the Pro-Am Division at the 2002 Midwest Invitation Ballroom Dance Championsips
• 6 first place awards in the Pro-Am Division at the 2003 Michgan Ballroom Dance Challenge.
• 2004  Motor City Jam - 1st place, Strictly Hustle
• 2004  Chicago Hustle & Salsa Championships - 3rd place
  
• 2005  Indy Swing Classic - 1st place, Hustle Jack & Jill
